Fan Xpert 2: What can it do for you? - Republic of Gamers Forum - 384080

Fan Xpert2: What can it do for you? Setting up fans, control your fans. Asus Fan Xpert 2: A nice solution to control your Fans by using the Fan Xpert 2 Software, so it seems. I have put it to the test. For the record: I do know there are separate fan controllers –and I use them to. Fan Xpert2: What can it do for you? Setting up fans, control your fans. Asus Fan Xpert 2: A nice solution to control your Fans by using the - 384080However I always try to figure out the benefits of the options that are offered, like in Fan Xpert 2. I have worked with the previous versions as well. I also know about the stories that the 4-pins power fan headers on the Asus ROG boards are not using the power control function as they are developed by the industry.I believe that the Fan Xpert 2 controls the fan speeds by simply dropping the voltages that are directed to the fans (but correct me if I am wrong). Also, I am not going to explain how Fan Xpert 2 works here. After having made those remarks, I do think Fan Xpert 2 has some real benefits. For a product feature that is being advertised as one of its features for the Maximus and other Republic of Gamers series motherboards, the lack of complete and sufficient information is surprising. If you are a buyer of one off these ROG products, you at least qualify as an PC enthusiast, right? So it should be possible to connect a cooling solution that goes far beyond 1 CPU fan, 1 Front Case Fan and 1 Back Case Fan.

Does ASUS's Fan Xpert work for you? – Please let us know!

I’ve been looking for a software PWM fan speed solution for my Asus motherboard, Antec case,… where I’ve tried a few PWM CPU fans, and couple PWM case fans, with both SpeedFan and Fan Xpert trying to reasonably control them… SpeedFan didn’t play well with my board. Fan Xpert is about 80% there and friendly, has great potential, BUT is missing a few key items that prevent builders from being able to use it. I’m wondering what works best for you and what doesn’t work for you. Hopefully, Asus will see many comments and further improve the product…Bruce’s Fan Xpert review: (v1.05 & 1.06) • The CPU fan control GUI allows the builder to design a temperature/PWM% profile curve to control the fan speed and gradually ramp it up as the CPU becomes warmer. This is great for keeping things relatively quiet until the user is loading the CPU.The only down sides are a) Fan Xpert mandates a 20%PWM minimum, which is unnecessarily fast/noisy for some PWM fans, and b) it would be better to have the builder enter the minimum rated speed of the CPU fan and let Fan Xpert find the minimum PWM% during its Calibration. The builder should be able to, at least, set the minimum level as a PWM percent. Ideally the builder should enter the minimum rated speed of the chosen monitored fan and let Fan Xpert find the minimum PWM% during calibration.

Asus Fan Xpert is Driving me Crazy | Ars OpenForum

So I built out a new box some months ago with the help of the fine Ars folks and it's been running great until recently.. for some reason the fans seem to randomly ramp up high for a few seconds then back to its normal mostly-quiet self. Full air cooled set up. Fractal Torrent w/ stock fans... Click to expand... UEFI curves? Is that like, just turn off Fan Xpert and let system handle it? I should disclaimer I'm the village idiot with advanced PC tuning like fan curves and such. Most of my life revolves around datacenter equipment which only comes in loud and louder varieties.Click to expand... Asus boards have a fan controller in the BIOS/UEFI, "Q-Fan". It works similarly to Fan Xpert. That way you don't have to install the AiSuite or Fan Xpert. That's what I normally use and haven't had any issues. If you have to choose between using Asus GPU Tweak in whatever form (including Fan Xpert/AI Suite) and taking a bullet to the head, just take the bullet. Less pain, more efficient. The bullet will also likely be more up-to-date than the archaic junk Asus is pushing.Click to expand... (emphasis mine) This is what I found, which is that if you set up your fan curves in the UEFI via the "Q-Fan" interface you get more stable and well behaved fan behaviour than if you try to do it via Fan Xpert - at least as far as motherboard based fan curves go.

It shows same exact values in NZXT Cam software and CPU ID HW monitor. The GPU fans are at 0 RPM. Not sure what happened, but I think either fan control is misreading the temp values, or it was misread before. Not sure what happened, but I think either fan control is misreading the temp values, or it was misread before.
